The Humble Crumb to Open October 2026 in the Marketplace at Avalon Park Food Hall
Orlando, FL — August 31st, 2026 — The Marketplace at Avalon Park announced The Humble Crumb, an artisan sourdough bakery, will open a permanent location in the food hall in October 2026.
The Humble Crumb started with a need for real sourdough bread: flour, water, salt, a very active wild yeast, and an idea that got a little out of hand. After years of learning, practicing, and refining the ancient craft of bread making, owner Merali Figueroa felt confident enough in the bakery’s artisan loaves to share them with the community. What began in the family kitchen turned into busy gatherings, and suggestions to try a farmers market quickly became the center of discussion.
Figueroa stated: “We grew into the community, and not long after, the sold-out back-to-back events and weekends, longer-than-imagined bread flavor lists, and incredible people who embraced us in ways we could have never imagined and before we could realize it, the opportunity came to continue growing, and we chose Avalon Park.”
The Humble Crumb’s farmers market roots shaped who the bakery is today, and the team is looking forward to sharing that with the wider community. The bakery’s menu will feature all the favorite sourdough bread flavors, including seasonal options, along with open toasts and toppings, freshly squeezed orange juice, espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and hot tea.
“We are incredibly grateful and excited to be able to bring our breads to a permanent location at the Marketplace,” Figueroa said. “Our promise remains the same: serve everyone with gratitude, kindness, consistency, and a humble heart that never forgets the journey in becoming The Humble Crumb.”
